Linus has significant experience in the public and nonprofit sectors, including with John Muir Land Trust, where he works closely with the Board of Directors and staff to manage change and growth, strategic planning, individual contributed income development, board and donor cultivation, land acquisition, land use planning, stewardship and public education activities. He oversees assets of $15 million and provides vision and leadership to ensure that JMLT achieves its ongoing mission, implements balanced annual operating budgets and meets its ambitious organizational goals for fundraising, financial stability, public visibility, diverse stakeholder partnering and long-range planning. Mr. Eukel is a native of Walnut Creek, California and currently resides with his wife Stephanie and their daughter Olivia in the City of Orinda. He serves on the Board of Directors of the California Council of Land Trusts, Board of Directors of the East Bay Leadership Council, Advisory Council of the Bay Area Open Space Council, and Board of Directors of the Warren W. Eukel Teacher Trust. Linus was educated in the Walnut Creek public school system, is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley, and holds a Master's Degree from the University of New York.

Jay spends his time getting the message out about John Muir Land Trust’s work to protect land in the East Bay for everyone to enjoy today and for generations to come. Jay spent ten years as Chief Marketing Officer of The Trust for Public Land, one of the country’s largest conservation organizations. He serves on the board of High Country News, and served on the Executive Committee and as Marketing Chair of EarthShare, a nonprofit group that manages workplace giving for over 500 environmental groups. Jay is a seasoned marketing veteran with three-and-a-half decades of experience as Chief Marketing Officer and senior brand strategist at blue-chip organizations. Jay holds an MBA from the Haas School at UC Berkeley, and a BA summa cum laude from Harvard College. A thirty-year resident of the East Bay, Jay currently lives in Lafayette with his wife, two daughters, two dogs, one cat, two bunnies, and seventeen chickens. He is usually covered in dog hair, sawdust, trail dust, or all three.
Hannah Hodgson

Hannah brings a wide-range of experience in environmental programming, education and community organizing to her work at John Muir Land Trust. In developing JMLT’s community programs, she spends her time creating opportunities for people to connect with each other and natural habitats, and to become ambassadors who protect open spaces. Hannah has had the honor to develop and deliver educational programs for the National Park Service, Resource Conservation Districts, and public utilities. As an alumna from U.C. Santa Cruz, she earned a B.A. in Community Studies with a focus in Economic Justice and a certificate in Experiential Leadership. She is a Wilderness First Responder and appreciates many forms of outdoor adventure. A Martinez native, she first fell in love with nature in the oak grasslands and continues to live on a small Martinez horse ranch with her family.

Melanie has over 15 years of fundraising experience at a variety of Bay Area non-profit organizations. She started as a development intern at The Women’s Foundation of California. Later she worked at Women’s Initiative for Self Employment, where she brought in nearly $2M a year from foundation, corporate, and government sources. As the Assistant Development Director at The Yosemite Fund she led individual giving campaigns for special projects in Yosemite National Park. Here Melanie discovered her passion for environmental issues. Since then she has held Development Director positions at As You Sow and the Bay Area Open Space Council. She holds a BA in anthropology from San Francisco State University and lives in Albany with her husband and young daughter. She is in awe at the amazing properties the John Muir Land Trust has saved for all of us to enjoy, and looks forward to connecting donors with new opportunities to do even more.
Glen Lewis

Glen helps to oversee the operation, maintenance and preservation of more than 2,000 acres of open space owned by JMLT. In 2009 Mr. Lewis retired from a successful 25-year career as Fire Captain with the Moraga Orinda Fire Department. Prior to his work with the Fire Service, he was employed as a Park Ranger with the East Bay Regional Park District. Glen is a 50-year resident of Martinez, California where he currently lives with his wife Martha, their daughter Kate and son Graham. He was educated in the Martinez Public School System, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biological Sciences from California State University at Sacramento and is certified in a wide-range of specialized technical training relevant to his job responsibilities. In his spare time, Glen enjoys being active with a variety of hobbies and interests including carpentry, gardening, hiking, bicycling and kayaking.
Lynette Lievens

Lynette has responsibility for accounting and financial management at JMLT. She brings decades of experience from industries as diverse as real estate, mortgage lending, semi-conductors, and even cable cars! Lynette has few equals when it comes to datamining insights from software applications for budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. She lives in Lafayette with her family, dogs and chickens; and enjoys spending as much time as possible doting on her two young granddaughters.
Kristin Salmon

Kristin brings passion and a strong commitment to environmental conservation and social justice to JMLT. Prior to JMLT, she spent several years living abroad, working in environmental consulting in Ecuador and teaching English and Ecology in rural Chilean Patagonia. These experiences led her to the Peace Corps as an agriculture development volunteer in the mountains of Jamaica. In 2016 she moved to the Bay Area and worked on the international business development team at Dropbox. She is experienced in program development, fundraising, and marketing. As for her own passions, Kristin lives in Oakland, CA and enjoys spending as much time outside hiking, camping, gardening, and practicing yoga. Kristin graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Analysis and Spanish from Pitzer College of the Claremont University Consortium.

Krista is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to JMLT’s mission of protecting and caring for open space, ranches, farms, parkland and shoreline in the East Bay, where she was born, raised and currently resides. Her diverse career working for Bay Area nonprofits spans over a decade and includes donor relations, marketing and communications, public affairs and business development. As Development and Communications Manager, Krista oversees corporate giving and volunteer programs through JMLT’s Corporate Council, employee and workplace giving, and supports marketing and communications, and individual giving efforts. Born at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, she feels a special connection to the people, history and landscape of Contra Costa County. Krista graduated from the University of California, Davis with Bachelor Degrees in English and Political Science, and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She lives in Martinez and, in her spare time, enjoys birding, hiking, and spending quality time with friends.
