You're invited!

Experience the magic of the East Bay Hills with JMLT’s Virtual Twilight Events on Thursday August 20 & 27, from 4:00 – 5:00pm. We are hosting our favorite nature exploration event online with informative and interactive discussions for the whole family.

Schedule of Events

Thursday, August 20 | 4:00-5:00pm
Meet a Barn Owl

Join Lindsay Wildlife Experience to meet and discuss local birds who are active during the twilight hours. Participants will have an opportunity to create a bird journal, share their bird discoveries, meet some bird celebrities, and learn all about our local bird and owl species.

Create your own bird journal at home! Before the event, review the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Explorer Guidebook (available in español también) and be ready to share about the sounds, habitat, and birds you have discovered while exploring outside. Create your own bird feeder for an easy way to view birds without disturbing them.

Thursday, August 27 | 4:00-5:00pm
Stargazing

Curious about planets in our solar system? Wish you knew stories behind constellations? Join Astronomical Society of the Pacific for a fun and interactive discussion about the night sky. We will talk about giant planets, the phases of the moon, and constellations. Participants will have an opportunity to create a moon journal and ask questions to understand what they are seeing in the sky.

Track the moon phases at home! Before the event, look for the moon in the sky each day to complete Your Moon Journal and be prepared to share your findings! This activity was designed by Astronomical Society of the Pacific; you can learn more here.
